Honorary doctorate awarded at the suggestion of the faculty

At its Annual Celebration on November 15^th, 2019, the University of Stuttgart awarded Prof. Konrad Bergmeister an honorary doctorate. The suggestion came primarily from the Faculty 2. Prof. Bergmeister conducts research and teaches at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna/AUSTRIA (BOKU) in the fields of structural analysis and civil engineering, tunnel and bridge construction as well as fastening technology. The engineer and scientist of international rank was already working at the University of Stuttgart and supports the Faculty 2 again and again, e.g. by the cooperation in appointment commissions or the preparation of expert opinions. In his rhetorically excellent laudation, Prof. Werner Sobek of the Institute for Lightweight Construction Design and Construction (ILEK) said that he had made a fundamental contribution to the further development of architecture through his practical construction work, and in particular his scientific work.
