AQUA Study Prizes 2021 awarded

AQUA Stiftung (AQUA Foundation) awards the AQUA Study Prize 2021 to K. Merkler, M. Sc., for her outstanding Master's Thesis, and to Dr.-Ing. Bakhshipour and Dr.-Ing. Heck for their outstanding dissertations.

Due to the high quality of the theses submitted, this year the AQUA Foundation Prize Committee decided to award three AQUA Study Prizes. The prize ceremony took place on Friday, 2th July 2021 in the framework of the virtual graduation ceremony of Faculty 2. The following three people are awarded the AQUA Study Prize 2021:

For their outstanding Master's thesis:

  • Merkler, Kathrin: "Technology combination of powdered activated carbon and ultrafiltration for trace substance removal and elimination of (antibiotic-resistant) bacteria" (Technologiekombination aus Pulveraktivkohle und Ultrafiltration zur Spurenstoffentnahme und Elimination von (antibiotikaresistenten) Bakterien).

For outstanding dissertation:

  • Bakhshipour, Amin Ebrahim
    Title of thesis: "Optimizing hybrid decentralized systems for sustainable urban drainage infrastructures planning"
  • Heck, Katharina
    Title of thesis: "Modelling and analysis of multicomponent transport at the interface between free- and porous-medium flow - influenced by radiation and roughness".
