On October 28th, 2020, the Karl-Heinz-Hunken-Award 2020 was awarded during a small ceremony at the Institute for Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Solid Waste Management (ISWA) to two graduates of the faculty who are now also ISWA employees.
Ms. Hanna Kramer, M. Sc., was awarded for her her master's thesis "Evaluating SDG Indicators 6.1.1 and 6.2.1 taking into Consideration the Importance of Gender Equality" using a small Andean community in Peru as an example (now Chair of Sanitary Engineering and Water Recycling).
Ms. Karoline Owusu-Sekyere, M. Sc. analyzed the material flow of an e-waste landfill in Ghana as part of her master's thesis "Improving the e-waste management conditions in Agbogbloshie through a material flow analysis" (now Chair of Waste Management and Emissions).
