Deutschlandfunk interview with Prof. Sobek on sustainability in the construction sector and short report in SWR aktuell on the SFB1244 demonstrator building and the IBA

Deutschlandfunkgs (dlf) devotes a lengthy report to a conversation with Prof. Sobek from the Faculty's Institute for Lightweight Design and Conceptual Design (ILEK). Entitled "Klimasünder Beton - Ein Baustoff sucht Nachfolger" (Concrete as a Climate Sinner - A Building Material Seeks Successors), it deals primarily with sustainability in the construction sector (The raw material sand is already becoming scarce. And the binder cement is responsible for almost every tenth ton of CO2 emitted by man), but also about his life and work. 

In the SWR aktuell broadcast of December 28th, 2020, Südwestrundfunk reports, among other things, on the Stuttgart 2027 International Building Exhibition (relevant: minutes 22:24 to 25:43 of the broadcast). Highlighted here is the integration of the demonstrator high-rise building of the SFB/CRC 1244, whose spokesperson is Prof. Sobek from the Faculty, into the IBA'27. The building is the first adaptive high-rise building in the world.

An article "Bauen für die Welt von morgen" (Building for tomorrow's world) was pulished in the Stuttgarter Zeitung of January 8th, 2021. This is based on a conversation with Prof. Blandini and Prof. Sobek from the faculty's Institute of Lightweight Design and Conceptual Design (ILEK). The main message is that it must be possible to build in the future with significantly lower resource consumption and lower emissions.
