Rules for the use of computer pools adopted

May 19, 2016 / Ulrich Rentschler

The faculty provides its students with two rooms equipped with computers at Pfaffenwaldring 7 (-0.009 with 32 and 1.153 with 25 computers and partly special software) for use in teaching. As vandalism (physical and other) has occurred here again in the recent past, the dean's office has now decided on a more restrictive access (only with application - see download link below -, if there is a proven need and its confirmation by an institute of the faculty) as well as a usage regulation (see download link below).

In brief:
  • Application with institute confirmation necessary for granting the right of use
  • Login to computer only possible if usage rights have been configured (incl. ECUS-based room access)
  • Temporary limitation of the right of use (usually until the beginning of the lecture period in the following semester, deadline for submission of the final thesis or end of the volunteer contract)
  • Pool rooms are nursing / computer work rooms and therefore not intended for conversations, group learning, eating & drinking or other activities (private surfing, ...)
  • Do not change equipment (cables, software, etc.)
  • Sanctions for non-compliance with the usage regulations possible
  • No more access via key
