The Porous Media Group at the University of Bergen/NORWEGEN organizes the Short Course Series: Mathematics of Porous Media during October 2020 until April 2021. The series started with an introduction to the mathematics of porous media, held by Jan Nordbotten (University of Bergen) on October 30th, 2020 and continues with further lecturers given by world leading researchers within their fields. One of them is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rainer Helmig, chair of the Department of Hydromechanics and Modelling of Hydrosystems (LH²) at the Institute for Modelling Hydraulic and Environmental Systems (IWS) of the Faculty and spokesman of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1313 "Interface-Driven Multi-Field Processes in Porous Media – Flow, Transport and Deformation".
