IREUS: research project ZURES continues

July 6, 2020 / PK+kur

In July 2020 the continuative research project ZURES II started at IREUS with an online meeting to discuss the project strategy and the first work steps.

Within the framework of the funding measure "Sustainable Transformation of Urban Spaces" funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the research project "ZURES II - Application and perpetuation of future-oriented climate and vulnerability scenarios in selected instruments and planning processes - model city Ludwigsburg" started at the Institute of Spatial and Regional Planning (IREUS) of the Faculty at the beginning of July. The project represents the successor project of ZURES I and deals with the handling of the methods and findings developed in ZURES I in planning using the example of the city of Ludwigsburg. In the course of the online meeting the strategy of the research project was further developed, first steps were defined and also research during the corona period was discussed. Especially in this research project a constant communication and cooperation with the users of the City of Ludwigsburg is essential, as the partners of ZURES II have set themselves the goal to implement the findings directly into planning processes of the City of Ludwigsburg.

The project team is looking forward to the next two years of application research with the partners IRPUD of TU Dortmund, LMU, GEO-NET, agl and the City of Ludwigsburg.
