On July 12, 2019, the graduates of the Faculty 2 study programs were honored at the graduation ceremony of the Faculty 2 in a festive ceremony. Prof. Oliver Röhrle, Vice Dean of Faculty 2, presented the Bachelor's and Master's to the graduates of the four Bachelor's and Master's programmes in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Real Estate Engineering and Management, and Transport Engineering, and the Doctoral Certificates to all successful Ph.D. candidates. The ceremony was accompanied by the string quartet of the Kammerphilharmonie of the University of Stuttgart.
The graduate ceremony also included the awarding of the faculty's teaching prize, which is endowed with 2,000 EUR. This year it went to Prof. Manfred Bischoff, Institute for Structural Mechanics, for his student-oriented teaching. Silke Schönstedt, Student Organisation Civil Engineering, emphasized in her laudation that Prof. Bischoff supports the students in a challenging subject with special dedication and understands how to prepare topics which are complex and difficult to access through his long lasting teaching experience in structural mechanics in such a way that they result in successful studies.
