With nine RegioRad stations, the University of Stuttgart will optimally develop its extensive campus in Vaihingen. On September 2nd, 2020, the Rector of the University of Stuttgart, Prof. Wolfram Ressel, together with Baden-Württemberg's Transport Minister Winfried Hermann and Stuttgart's Mayor Peter Pätzold put the fourth station into operation. Over 70 bicycles and pedelecs will be used in the future.

"I would be pleased if the RegioRadies would contribute to improving the mobility of students and employees on the Vaihingen campus in the future and thereby further increase the liveliness of the campus," said Wolfram Ressel. An attractive, lively campus with intelligent infrastructure promotes excellent conditions for studying, research and teaching and increases the identification of students and employees with their university, Ressel continued. "I would like to thank the stuvus student representatives for their commitment to anchoring RegioRad in the MobiLab project and bringing it to the campus as an offer," said Ressel. Philipp Buchholz, mobility officer of the student representation of the University of Stuttgart: "Many places on the extensive campus cannot be reached by public transport. Therefore the bikes are a good addition".

With regard to the new bike stations, Transport Minister Winfried Herrmann emphasized: "It is not only important that the university does research on these future topics, but also that it lives the everyday life of the future". According to Hermann, the bike stations are a prime example of self-initiative by students at the University of Stuttgart.

On behalf of the state capital Stuttgart as the client of RegioRad, Mayor Peter Pätzold referred to the exemplary character of the Vaihingen campus, which is thus one of almost two hundred stations in the Stuttgart region.

In his closing remarks, stuvus chairman Christopher Behrmann called for "pedaling together for the mobility.
