Mrs. Madeleine Bauer, M. Sc., was honored with the 1.st prize for remarkable scientific achievements of the Association of Friends of the University of Stuttgart (Vereinigung von Freunden der Universität Stuttgart e.V.) for her Master's thesis. The thesis with the title "Untersuchungen zur Querkraftbeanspruchung gerissener Fahrbahnplatten aus Beton" (Investigations into the lateral force loading of cracked concrete roadway slabs) was made at the Institute of Structural Design (KE).
The prize is awarded annually by the Association of Friends of the University of Stuttgart.
