Once a year, the University of Stuttgart - and with it the Faculty 2 - opens its laboratory doors. Exhibits, lectures, experiments to touch and participate in: This is how research and teaching come alive. We show exciting research topics and offer information about study programs as well as education and training at the university. This year, the Faculty 2: Civil and Environmental Engineering plans to invite you to participate and inform yourself., in and around the buildings Pfaffenwaldring 4, 5a, 7, 14 and 47. According to current planning, the following are offered, among others:

  • Bauhütte - sustainable buildings (opposite Pfaffenwaldring 53)
  • Biodiversity-promoting façade systems (exterior wall Pfaffenwaldring 9 towards the S-Bahn entrance)
  • BuildING the Future (Pfaffenwaldring 7, upper foyer/upper ground floor)
  • Guided tour: Railway model installation (from 1:30 p.m. every hour until 5:30 p.m., Pfaffenwaldring 7, upper foyer/upper ground floor)
  • Experiment, calculate, construct (opposite Universitätsstraße 38)
  • Children's University: Cool clothes for hot buildings (1 p.m., Pfaffenwaldring 53)
  • Microorganisms and microscopes (outdoor area Pfaffenwaldring 7)
  • Mobility and climate (Pfaffenwaldring 7, upper foyer/upper ground floor)
  • Sustainable building (outdoor area Pfaffenwaldring 4)
  • Sustainable lightweight concrete construction (Pfaffenwaldring 7)
  • Pretty Porous - Everything Porous! (Pfaffenwaldring 47, lower foyer)
  • Civil and environmental engineering degree programs introduce themselves (Pfaffenwaldring 7)
  • Drought, moisture or contaminated drinking water (Pfaffenwaldring 5a, ground floor)
  • Ultra-lightweight construction - guided tour of the demonstrator high-rise building (15/15:30/16/16:30, next to Pfaffenwaldring 14)
  • From construction to traffic (outdoor area Pfaffenwaldring 7)
  • When do stones break? (outdoor area Pfaffenwaldring 7)
  • Purifying water - do it yourself! (Outdoor area Pfaffenwaldring 7)
  • The future of building (Pfaffenwaldring 47, lower foyer)

We will also be presenting the faculty's four German-language degree programs in lecture hall V 47.03:

  •  from 5 p.m. with the joint short portrait “BuildING the future: Studying Civil Engineering, Real Estate Engineering + Real Estate Management”: Civil Engineering and Real Estate Engineering and Real Estate Management
  • from 6 p.m. Environmental Engineering and Transportation Engineering.

Starting at 6 p.m., we will shortly present in German in the lecture hall V 47.01 the German-language study programs of the faculty (Civil Engineering/Bauingenieurwesen, Environmental Engineering/Umweltschutztechnik, Real Estate Engineering and Management/Immobilientechnik und Immobilienwirtschaft, Transport Engineering/Verkehrsingenieurwesen).
