Presentation E. Fricke: Challenges during commissioning

of the Stuttgart-Ulm rail project - organized by DVWG-BV Württemberg

Time
12/13/21, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Lecturer
Dipl.-Ing. Eckart Fricke, Program Manager Commissioning Stuttgart-Ulm

The "Stuttgart - Ulm" rail project has its challenges not only because of its immense scope, but above all because of the dissection into many individual commissioning stages of the project. The transition to a new digital world of safety technology can be seen as a further challenge, but above all as an opportunity. For the first time, a digital safety system (ETCS without signals) is being integrated into a node under the rolling wheel as part of the "Stuttgart digital node" pilot project.

Eckart Fricke studied civil engineering, specializing in traffic engineering. This was followed by career training with Deutsche Bundesbahn in Frankfurt/Main. After various positions at Deutsche Bahn, including Group Representative in Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia, he has been Program Manager Commissioning Stuttgart-Ulm since 2019.
